    Magic Knight Rayearth Confirms New Anime Project

    The 1994 anime is coming back in a brand new way.

    CLAMP has announced that their Magic Knight Rayearth manga will be getting a new anime project. They released a promotional video and key visual for the series.

    CLAMP initially wrote Magic Knight Rayearth in 1993. The series would continue until 1996. An anime adaptation would release in 1994 and lasted until 1995. The upcoming series will be the first new anime project of the original manga in thirty years.

    The official Twitter/X account of Magic Knight Rayearth has confirmed that a new anime project of the original series is in development. At the time of writing, the release date for the new project is unknown. However, TMS Entertainment will develop and animate the series. Check out the first promo video for the series below:

    Magic Knight Rayearth centers on three high school girls named Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu. On a class field trip to Tokyo Tower, they are magically transported into the fantasy world of Cephiro. They are immediately greeted by the mage Clef, who tells them that the world is dying after the priest Zagato kidnapped Princess Emeraude, whose prayers maintain the state of the world. Without her singing, Cephiro is on the brink of collapse. Imbued with magical powers as the Magic Knights, Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu must learn how to work together to survive and save Cephiro.

    Magic Knight Rayearth will get a new anime adaptation at some point in the future. CLAMP and TMS Entertainment will likely reveal more about the series in the coming months.
