Sony Interactive Entertainment and SHIFT UP announced that Stellar Blade surpassed one million copies sold worldwide for PlayStation 5. Sales of Stellar Blade include digital copies sold and physical shipments.
Alongside the sales update, SHIFT UP announced a Photo Mode will be available in a free update his August. More outfits will be added in October, and a big collaboration will be held before the end of the year. A Stellar Blade sequel and new DLC are also planned, according to Gematsu.
Two new outfits have been added to Stellar Blade with the latest update, and a new hair slot lets players change Eve’s hairstyle at any time. The Boss Challenge mode will now keep the costume that players changed into as well. Moreover, a toggle for the “Skip” UI for cutscenes is now available in the game, and holding the button during the end credits will now speed up scrolling.
The May 24 update introduced a new Boss Challenge mode. This mode puts the player against the 19 bosses from the boss game. Progression in the Boss Challenge requires battle data from bosses that the player previously defeated. Players can also fight bosses on the Hard difficulty setting after they’ve seen the game’s ending.
To start the challenge, Stellar Blade players may either load up and use their gear from their playthrough or choose one of several presets. Choosing the minimum preset presents a true challenge, and choosing the maximum preset gives the player more leeway to taunt their boss.
Stellar Blade launched on April 26, 2024 worldwide, exclusively for PlayStation 5. A PC version is reportedly planned.
