Nintendo has officially announced Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, an HD port of the Wii platforming classic. The game will release for the Nintendo Switch on January 16, 2025.
Nintendo initially released Donkey Kong Country Returns for the Wii in 2010. Later, the game would receive a port for the Nintendo 3DS. Later, a sequel would release for the Wii U (and would be ported to the Nintendo Switch) titled Tropical Freeze in 2014.
Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Revealed, Releasing Early Next Year
Nintendo has revealed a remastered version of Donkey Kong Country Returns. The game will be available for the Nintendo Switch on January 16, 2025. According to the game’s description, players can “Enjoy 80 levels, including the additional levels from the Nintendo 3DS version, and join up with a buddy for 2-player local co-op!” Check out the first trailer for the game below:
