Tekken 8 revealed on its X/Twitter account that update 1.05 will address players’ common issues with the game. This is the next biggest patch to arrive after update 1.04.00.
Tekken 8 was released almost six months ago, and many players have had the chance to form their own criticisms. Some players talked about how the game is too aggressive, while others mentioned that combos are way too strong. Whatever players’ concerns may be, the developers are listening and want to fix them in this coming update.
Tekken 8 Update 1.05 Will Address Fan Feedback
Here are the big changes Tekken 8 has planned for update 1.05 below:
- “Some characters aren’t able to fully showcase their unique strengths in TEKKEN 8″ – Characters like Kazuya, Paul & Raven will be buffed to make them more relevant. Additionally, some nerfs from previous patches will be re-adjusted to broaden the scope of gameplay.
- “Some moves & combos are disproportionately strong” – In addition to character moves adjustments, Heat Dashes, throws & stage gimmicks will see their damage scaling recalibrated. This is done to prevent situations where combo damage can become excessively high.
- “Aggressiveness is a bit too rewarding, making it hard to defend yourself effectively” – Wall staggers from Heat Dashes will be removed & the damage of Heat Bursts and throws will be nerfed. This is done to increase the importance of sidestepping & 3-dimensional plays.
Moreover, no more big balance patches will be coming for the rest of the year. The developers will only focus on bug fixes and unintended move behaviors going forward.
Maintenance for the new update will begin on June 10 at 6:30 p.m. PT and last until 12:00 a.m. PT on June 11. Patch notes will be released on June 10 as well.
Additionally, Bandai Namco recently unveiled the roadmap for the rest of season 1 for Tekken 8. Many free updates will arrive throughout the year, and brand-new characters will also be introduced. The incoming DLC character Lidia Sobieska arrives soon, so stay tuned.
Lastly, Tekken 8 is available now on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
