While gameplay has yet to be seen, Civilization fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the game in action at some point when it gets fully revealed in August.
Civilization VII will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Mac via Steam when it releases next year. Fans can visit the Civilization website and follow it on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok for more official updates on the game.
Like previous entries, Civilization VII will see players attempt to expand their civilization. This can be done by constructing cities and choosing between peaceful or less peaceful ways to deal with rival leaders. As one might guess, the goal is to establish a thriving civilization that can last indefinitely.

The cinematic announcement trailer gives players an idea of what to expect from the game’s art direction and tone. It showcases several points throughout the history of humanity and the challenge of building a civilization. Very few gameplay details are currently available as the full reveal is still on its way. As usual, Firaxis Games will be handling development and 2K will publish the title.
Over the years, the Civilization series has sold over 70 million copies and has over 1 billion hours played. 2K Games is hoping for Civilization VII to continue on the legacy of the franchise, promising the game to be an ambitious and incredibly refined entry. Whatever the case is, fans will know a lot more about the game before August ends.
The game is currently rated RP by the ESRB. However, if the previous releases are anything to go by, it shouldn’t be surprising if the game receives an E10+ rating.
