Bioware has retitled Dragon Age: Dreadwolf to Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Additionally, they have announced that gameplay for the upcoming release will drop on June 11.
Dragon Age is one of the many beloved franchises that BioWare has worked on over the years. Other games include Mass Effect, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and the original Baldur’s Gate. Their next game, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, has been in-development for years. However, EA will reveal more information about the upcoming release during the summer 2024 season.
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, Now Titled Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Gameplay Dropping on June 11
According to a recent blog post, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is now going by a new name. Bioware has dropped the Dreadwolf in favor of The Veilguard as a subtitle. Additionally, they have revealed that the first gameplay footage for the upcoming RPG will drop on June 11. In the blog post, Bioware explained the reason for the name change:
Each of the seven unique characters that make up your companions will have deep and compelling storylines where the decisions you make will impact your relationships with them – as well as their lives. You’ll unite this team of unforgettable heroes as you take on a terrifying new threat unleashed on the world. Naturally, the Dread Wolf still has an important part in this tale, but you and your companions – not your enemies – are the heart of this new experience.
So, to capture what this game is all about, we changed the name as the original title didn’t show just how strongly we feel about our new heroes, their stories and how you’ll need to bring them together to save all of Thedas. We proudly introduce to you Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Lastly, the first set of gameplay for Dragon Age: The Veilguard will release on June 11.
