    Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Version 1.040 Available Now

    Square Enix has announced and released Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Version 1.040 today. This update brings bug fixes and other stability improvements. Specifically, a bug for Gears & Gambits was addressed, and bugs preventing story progression were fixed.

    Rebirth launched worldwide for PlayStation 5 on February 29 of this year. The game acts as the second title in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Project, with the third title already well underway in development.

    The next update file (Version 1.040) for FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH will be released on 06/04/2024.

    This update will apply fixes to several bugs, as well as improving the stability and functionality of the overall game.
    For the best experience, please try to play FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH using the latest updates where possible.

    The Version 1.040 update contains the following changes:

    • Fixes to bugs that would very occasionally prevent game progress under specific conditions.
    • Fixes that allow the player to acquire photo frames if a bug occurs that would prevent their acquisition after fulfilling the relevant unlock conditions.
    • Fixes to bugs that are triggered under specific circumstances in battle.
    • Fixes to a bug where information was not shown on screen when selecting to play Stage 2 of the Gambit Gears mini game on Hard Mode.
    • Fixes to several display-related bugs.
    • Improvements to the overall game stability.

    Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is available now for PlayStation 5, with future platforms possible now that the exclusivity period over.
