MAGES. and Team GrisGris released a new trailer for Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion, teasing the game’s “Monkey Set” Limited Edition. A new visual for the upcoming game was revealed as well.
Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion is described as a “true sequel to the series,” according to scenario writer Makoto Kedouin. The game’s new setting will provide many horrors, but the writer hopes the game will be a source of encouragement to players facing their own real-life obstacles. The sequel will launch this fall in Japan and the west, with players having the option to buy a standard or limited edition copy.

In the west, Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion will be sold physically and digitally this fall starting at $49.99 for a standard edition copy. The physical “Ayame’s Mercy Edition” will be sold for $79.99 at the XSEED Games Store and participating retailers. This limited ediiton includes includes a reversible cover, a ‘Save Yourself’ LED blue candle styled after the in-game save points, a 64-page artbook, a “Ayame’s Mercy” lenticular art card, an “evidence kit,” and an Amare Est Vivere Medical Kit metal outer case.

Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion follows three high school friends; Haruka Nanami, Nemu Takanashi, and Maria Hitsugi, as they explore the Amare Est Vivere Hospital, testing a local urban legend as the streamer Nemu seeks to boost her subscriber count.
