MAGES. and Team GrisGris announced Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion, the next new entry in the long-running Corpse Party series. The game is scheduled to launch in 2024, and several more details were revealed.
This past February, a Dengeki Online interview with MAGES. director Makoto Asada confirmed that a new Corpse Party title had been in production for roughly two years. The game retains several horror elements that made the series a success with staff writers from Team GrisGris at the helm. Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion appears to be that new title in question.
Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion Revealed
The upcoming game is a new entry and a “true sequel” to the Corpse Party series according to scenario writer Makoto Kedouin. A new setting will provide many horrors, but the writer hopes the game will be a source of encouragement to players facing their own obstacles in the world. Currently, the sequel is slated to launch in 2024, and platforms were not announced.
“Production has been underway on Corpse Party II: Darkness Distortion, an all-new entry and true sequel to the series,” said scenario writer Makoto Kedouin. “In a new setting, new horrors await with a cruel laugh. I hope that it will become a source of encouragement for those faced against the harsh realities of the world. Please, stay safe…! I hope everyone will be able to enjoy the ever-expanding world of Corpse Party.”

MAGES. fans may also look forward to a new Steins; title, which serves as a thematic sequel to Steins;Gate. The company has “big plans” for the Steins;Gate 15th anniversary this fall, so an announcement may come before the year is over. Further detauls about the new Steins; game have not been revealed.
Lastly, Corpse Party (2021) is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam worldwide.
