    New Corpse Party Game is in Development, Worldwide Release Confirmed

    A renewed Corpse Party experience coming soon.

    In a recent interview, MAGES. director Makoto Asada announced a new Corpse Party game is in development with a planned worldwide release. This new title will have a different art style compared to prior 2D pixel entries in the Corpse Party series.

    Asada confirmed the announcement with Dengeki during an interview, elaborating further on the game’s development. According to Asada, players may even question if it’s actually an adventure game from MAGES. due to the game’s vastly different visual style. Fortunately, it will retain the horror elements that made the series known to fans around the world. Team GrisGris, the staff writers from the original Corpse Party game, are involved with the new project. 

    Production of the new Corpse Party game began roughly two years ago according to Asada. However, the project itself has been in the works for several years. Development of the game progressed to the point where Asada may officially confirm it to the public. An officially announcement is coming soon, so Asada hopes fans look forward to the new game soon.

    Dengeki: What kind of work do you have in store for us in the future?

    Makoto Asada: Aside from the title releasing this Summer that I mentioned earlier, we are currently working on a brand-new Corpse Party game! This new title will have a completely different visual style from the pixel 2D art style. So much so that you might even question if it’s an adventure game from MAGES. 

    The staff who worked on Corpse Party for a long time are returning to work on this game, and we would like to present a new form of Corpse Party to all fans. We will make an official announcement soon, so please wait for it. This is another title that will be released simultaneously worldwide and is the game that MAGES will be putting the most effort into this year.

    Lastly, Corpse Party (2021) is available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
