Aniplex has released the official opening animation of Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- in advance of its launch next month for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. While the title was originally released in 2021 in Japan, this is the first time that the game will be playable in English, as the original game did not release in the West.
This opening was animated by studio Ufotable, best known for its Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works adaptation and the widely popular Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. The song used for this opening is Seimeisen by ReoNA. Take a look at the opening animation for Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- below:
Tsukihime is the first visual novel by Type-Moon. It was released for PC in December of 2000. A remake was announced in 2008, and any news went radio silent until 2020. The remake was announced to have been split into two parts: Near-side routes and Far-side routes. 2021’s Tsukihime -A Piece of Blue Glass Moon- released exclusively in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. A localization of the visual novel was announced at Anime Expo, and fans can look forward to playing the first remake in English next month.
The game will be available both digitally and physically, with the latter being a Physical Limited Edition. This version will feature a physical copy of the game, an artbook, and a limited edition box. Note that Sony has censored certain pages in the PS4 artbook, though the Switch version is unaffected.
Tsukihime -A piece of blue glass moon- releases on June 27, 2024 for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
