Square Enix announced its “couple-raising battle fantasy RPG” Towa Tsugai is ending service on July 23, 2024. The game will shutdown just a year and four months after its launch for Android and iOS in Japan.
Launched on February 16, 2023, Towa Tsugai is an original work by Nao Hokumoto from ILCA, who previously worked on SINoALICE and The Idolmaster: Starlit Season. Keiichi Okabe (NieR: Automata) and Shotaro Seo from MONACA composed music for the game. Additionally, Yukisame is Towa Tsugai’s original character designer, and Animate served as a marketing partner for the title.
Towa Tsugai Ending Service and Opening a New Community
Towa Tsugai is ending service on July 23 at 20:00 JST, and sales of in-game currency and the “Towa Tsugai Pass” are now disabled permanently. Refunds for unused paid currency will be available with more details coming at a later date, according to Square Enix’s support post.
Although the game is sending service, Towa Tsugai will continue with “Towa Tsugai Fans,” which will launch on July 23. This is an officially licensed fan community project that will continue the main story of the game. Save data from the game may be transferred to the project by using the in-game transfer code.
