Dragon Ball FighterZ revealed the patch notes for update 1.36, which is available to download now. For Steam players, this patch will be available on April 19th 15:00 PDT / April 20th 00:00 CEST. This is a much-needed update for some players, as it addresses players’ criticisms with the rollback netcode.
Dragon Ball FighterZ 1.36 Patch Notes – What’s New
Many of the changes coming out of this update are in relation to the recently added rollback netcode. The playerbase voiced their concerns regarding the rollback netcode, so Bandai Namco promised to address the issues. The GGPO Steam version, PS5, XSX, and GamePass versions of the game have all received new updates. In addition to fixing the rollback netcode, spectator mode has also been fixed, allowing characters to display correctly for viewers. Currently, there is no information on Bandai addressing PS5 users’ controller issues.
To clarify, rollback netcode reduces the overall input lag and visual stuttering in online matches in fighting games. Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the latest fighting games to implement this function. The netcode predicts the inputs and executes theme immediately, then corrects any discrepancies afterward for a smoother experience. However, only the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game can benefit from the netcode update.
