Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO Details on Transformations and Weather

New V Jump scans from DBS Hype (via ShonenGameZ) reveal that transformations, such as Goku’s Super Saiyan Blue, and ki charging will be able to change the in-game weather. As characters charge their ki, the wind around them will stir. This effect was briefly shown in the latest Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO trailer from The Game Awards 2023, which seriously impressed Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 writer Yonazawa. Bandai Namco also reiterates the environmental changes that will occur as characters fight.

Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO will have an “overwhelming” number of fighters that “will even get fans going.” according to Bandai Namco. The game will have a high number of actions and skills as well, and the traditional battle system has been refined for even faster and more engaging action.

In a recent interview, Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO producer Jun Furutani shared some insight into the game’s development. According to the developer, he observed the Dragon Ball FighterZ eSports scene to identify ways of recreating iconic battles in a similar experience in Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO. Furutani believes the game will push “the limits of how much a player can completely immerse themselves into the world.”

Lastly, Dragon Ball: Sparking ZERO is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
