Blue Reflection Sun is Ending Service in May 2024

    Lasted little over one year.

DMM Games, Koei Tecmo, and Gust announced that mobile RPG Blue Reflection Sun will end service on May 30, 2024. The game is shutting down just one year after the game’s launch.

Blue Reflection Sun is the latest entry in the Blue Reflection RPG series by Koei Tecmo and Gust. Before the game’s launch on February 21, 2023 in Japan, players had the opportunity to try out Blue Reflection Sun in a closed beta in December 2022. A worldwide release was never announced, and players will no longer be able to play the title in any region soon.

Blue Reflection Sun Reaches End of Service in Just One Year

DMM Games will shut down Blue Reflection Sun on May 30 at 12:00 p.m. JST. All sales of in-game gems and Ikusei Boost purchases in Blue Reflection Sun are disabled as of March 29, as the game heads toward the end of service date. Players have roughly two months to finish any remaining content in the game.

Blue Reflection would make its overseas debut on September 26, 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam. The first entry’s success spawned an entire series for Blue Reflection, which includes Blue Reflection: Second Light and Blue Reflection Sun. Blue Reflection: Second Light released on November 9, 2021 worldwide for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam.

Blue Reflection Sun, the latest release in the series, released on February 21, 2023 for Android and iOS in Japan.

Here’s an overview of the upcoming mobile RPG via Gematsu:

    About Blue Reflection Sun

It all began a year and a half ago.

The day that “ash” suddenly began to rain on the world. At first, mankind saw it with an optimistic mindset—“it’s a bit unpleasant, but it is just another natural phenomenon.”

However, mankind eventually learned that the ash is “a toxic substance that invades the body,” and gives birth to creatures called “Testa” that attack mankind.

To defeat the Testa, a special power is required, which only manifests in extremely rare cases when the body is invaded by ash.

Those who possessed that power are called the “Eroded” by those who know of their existence.

One day, a girl named Shiho Kasuga transfers to Hinomori Academy for the treatment of ash-related sickness. But what awaited her there was a new everyday life in which an endless battle against the ash unfolds.
