Who is Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s Producer?

Yoshinori Kitase is the Producer of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. He has a long history with Square Enix, dating back to the 90’s. Kitase has been heavily involved in the Final Fantasy series since, taking on many leadership roles such as director and producer. He’s also the Brand Manager of the entire Final Fantasy series, making sure that every little aspect of the series meets the standards and image the franchise holds.

What Has He Done Prior to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

Kitase has been a part of the storied and spectacular Final Fantasy series since the early 1990s. His computer knowledge was lacking as he graduated from a cinema college. However, this gave him a distinct advantage in storytelling and scene direction, thus leading to the roles he was given.  His first role was with Seiken Densetsu (Final Fantasy Adventure/ Adventures of Mana) as a designer and scenario writer.

His next project jumped to the main Final Fantasy series, as he became a co-scenario writer and field planner for Final Fantasy V. This marked his first foray into the big leagues, especially with his following game lineup. He would go on to direct and provide story ideas for Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy VII, and Final Fantasy VIII. He would then make his producer debut by directing AND producing Final Fantasy X. Now THAT’s pedigree. Kitase has since produced countless Final Fantasy projects, keeping the series alive and varied.

What is His Role in the Creation of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth?

Yoshinori Kitase was the director of the original Final Fantasy VII, so what’s he doing this go around for FF7? Well, he’s the Producer! He oversees the whole project and ensures that it meets its deadlines. With his decades of experience and knowledge about the Final Fantasy VII universe, he’s the only man for the job! His longtime passion is apparent, as the FF7 remake project is nothing short of pristine. Here’s to part 3, Kitase-san!

Yoshinori Kitase has had the Final Fantasy VII remake project on his mind for a long time, addressing fan’s wishes for years. Even before the announcement of Remake, Kitase was awaiting the day, knowing full well that this project would be quite the undertaking. He has gone on record to say “As a result, the game that is about to be born surpasses even my own expectations as the one who voiced the desire to take this endeavor on in the first place. In fact, the one who’s looking forward to playing this game the most right now might actually be me.” To me, this is proof of his love for the series and I wholly trust him and the rest of the team to continue delivering fantastic works of art.
