Shiren the Wanderer 6 Equipment Guide – General Tips
Don’t be afraid of failure! You may have to start over upon incapacitation, but many new things are unlocked by making multiple attempts and progressing further within the dungeons. Your experimentation and willpower will gain you immeasurable knowledge and practice. Remember: rise and rise again!
Take your time! This game is turn-based in a sense, as everything moves and happens in response to YOUR actions. If you’re in a tight situation, really mull over your options and brainstorm a proper plan. Read item and monster descriptions, experiment with your gear, strategically stall, flee for safety, or even take a loss if necessary. Progress is progress!

Procuring Gear
The Mystery Dungeon is chock-full of items to grab. Simply walking over them or manually picking them up will add them to your inventory. This includes Gear. Weapons, Shields, and Bracelets appear along the normal items. However, bracelets and other items have unknown factors. You need something like an Identifier Scroll to properly learn their effects and equip them.
It’s super easy to equip gear. Just equip it straight from your equipment menu. Be sure to pay attention to the strength values and effects of each piece of gear. This ensures that you can always adapt your equipment to match any situation.
Mystical Runes and Upgrades
Sometimes you can find gear with Runes on them. This can be checked in your Inventory menu. Runes give pieces of equipment special properties. Allowing for unique buffs that aid you in your adventures. There are even ways to add runes to gear yourself later on… Shields and weapons also have levels. These can be upgraded with certain scrolls and blacksmiths. Being rusted can also lower their levels, making them significantly less effective…
Gear Degradation
The Mystery Dungeon is littered with traps, just begging to impede you in some way. Unfortunately, some of these traps can rust your weapons or even forcefully unequip your gear. Having these happen to you in ill-timed situations can spell trouble. Some runes prevent rust and the right items and strategies can get you out of most of these. Some enemies also have skills that ruin your items, as well.
Alterations and Special Gear Options
After getting to around Floor 20, you learn about Synthesis Pots. These can be used to fuse two weapons and create a new weapon with a special trait or rune. Using this method, you can create fantastic gear with enough luck and patience.
