    Bocchi the Rock! Compilation Film Reveals New Key Visual

    All four members of Kessoku Band are ready.

    The staff of the Bocchi the Rock anime series revealed a new key visual featuring Kessoku Band members for the upcoming compilation film. The first film, Bocchi the Rock! Re:, will premiere this spring. 

    The Bocchi the Rock! Re: and Re:Re: compilation films will be airing in spring and summer 2024 respectively. As the title suggests, these films will recap the events of the anime series from 2022. The new Bocchi the Rock key visual sees Kessoku Band members Hitori “Bocchi-chan” Gotō, Nijika Ijichi, Ryо̄ Yamada, and Ikuyo Kita ready for the new film.

    Fans may also look forward to a new Nendoroid Doll figure for protagonist Hitori Gotō, a Hitori “Attention-seeking Monster” Nendoroid figure, and a Nijika Ijichi scale figure from Good Smile Company. All three figures are still pending approval, so release dates and pricing will be announced at a later date. 

    Aki Hamaji’s Bocchi the Rock! manga began in the Manga Time Kirara Max magazine in December 2017. The manga is still ongoing, and the Bocchi the Rock! anime series ran from October to December 2022. All 12 episodes are currently available to stream now on Crunchyroll.

    Keiichirō Saitō directed the Bocchi the Rock! anime at studio CloverWorks. Erika Yoshida supervised and wrote the series scripts for all 12 episodes. Moreover, Kerorira designed the characters.

    The voice cast of Bocchi the Rock! includes:

    • Sayumi Suzushiro as Nijika Ijichi

    Hitori Gotoh, “Bocchi-chan,” is a girl who’s so introverted and shy around people that she’d always start her conversations with “Ah…”

    During her middle school years, she started playing the guitar, wanting to join a band because she thought it could be an opportunity for even someone shy like her to also shine. But because she had no friends, she ended up practicing guitar for six hours every day all by herself.

    After becoming a skilled guitar player, she uploaded videos of herself playing the guitar to the internet under the name “Guitar Hero” and fantasized about performing at her school’s cultural festival concert. But not only could she not find any bandmates, before she knew it, she was in high school and still wasn’t able to make a single friend!

    She was really close to becoming a shut-in, but one day, Nijika Ijichi, the drummer in Kessoku Band, reached out to her. And because of that, her everyday life started to change little by little…
