NetherRealm Studios has announced that Peacemaker will be available to early access owners of Mortal Kombat 1 on February 28. He will be available alongside the game’s newest season.
Mortal Kombat 1 is the long-anticipated next entry in the beloved Mortal Kombat franchise. The game is available now and features various unique characters and brand-new ways to play. In November, during New York Comic-Con, NRS released the first DLC character, Omni-Man, for the game. They released Quan Chi in December, with the next character set to be Peacemaker in February.
Mortal Kombat 1 Releasing Peacemaker for Early Access Owners on February 28
In a recent post on the Mortal Kombat 1 Twitter/X account, NetherRealm Studios revealed that the game’s next DLC character, Peacemaker, will be available via Early Access on February 28. Owners of the premium edition have access to all DLC characters a week early. As such, for everyone else, Peacemaker will be available on March 6. NRS will reveal more about the next DLC character (played by John Cena) later in February.
During the recent CCXP 2023 event in Brazil, Ed Boon held a panel dedicated to Mortal Kombat. During the event, he revealed that the game will be getting story DLC in the near future. He stated: “Just like we did with MK11, we’re going to release a second part with more story and we have a big surprise after that.”
Mortal Kombat 1‘s predecessor, Mortal Kombat 11, also featured a story DLC. Titled Aftermath, the expansion released over one year after the release of MK11. With the previous precedent being set by Mortal Kombat 11, it is likely that Mortal Kombat 1‘s story expansion will release in Fall 2024, after the entirety of Kombat Pack 1 has been released.
Lastly, Mortal Kombat 1 will add Peacemaker to early access on February 28. It will be available for everyone else around early March.
