Recent box office statstics have revealed that Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom has reached 1.8 billion yen in only nine days. The statistic comes just six days after the movie was reported to have made 1.06 billion yen.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED: Freedom is the long-awaited sequel to the SEED Destiny anime series. The original series ran from 2004-2005. The new movie will pick up right from where SEED Destiny left off with Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne serving as the two main characters once more.

After nine days, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Freedom has officially passed 1.8 billion yen (or approximately $12.13 million in US Dollars). The announcement comes just a few days after the movie was reported to have reached 1.06 billion yen. The statistic will likely continue to grow in the coming weeks.
