    Hideo Kojima Creating New Action Espionage IP ‘PHYSINT’ with Sony

    An incredibly exciting announcement from Hideo Kojima.

    Hideo Kojima announced today that he will begin developing a new action espionage IP in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment once development on Death Stranding 2 – On The Beach has wrapped up. That game is set to release in 2025, so it’s likely that full production will begin sometime next year. The project is officially titled PHYSINT (Tentative Title).

    Hideo Kojima is no stranger to action espionage titles. His most famous works include the Metal Gear Solid series, which are praised for being some of the best action espionage titles to ever be created. This new IP from Kojima will mark his first return to the genre since leaving Konami in 2015 after Metal Gear Solid V.

    Alongside this announcement, Hideo Kojima also showcased a new 10-minute trailer of Death Stranding 2, now titled Death Stranding 2 – On The Beach. The trailer showcased gameplay and revealed the mission behind the sequel. “Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam—with companions by his side—sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again.”
