The recent issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump announced that Haikyu!! will be getting a new one-shot manga on February 5. The release of the manga will coincide with the premiere of part 1 of the final Haikyu!! film, Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump.
Haruichi Furudate launched the Haikyu!! manga in 2011. Both Viz Media and MANGA Plus have released the manga around the world. The anime adaptation initially aired in 2014 and lasted until 2020. Shueisha revealed more details about the upcoming one-shot in their recent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump.
New Haikyu!! One-Shot Manga Releasing In Just Over a Week
2024’s ninth issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump revealed that Haikyu!! will be getting a new one-shot manga on February 5. Haruichi Furudate will pen the sixteen-page one-shot. Further, it will feature a color page and commemorate the February 16 release of Haikyu!! the Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump.

Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school.
Unfortunately the team is matched up against the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.
At the time of writing, the franchise’s staff has not yet confirmed when Part 2 of the movie will be released, or when Part 1 will release in the West. The Haikyu! Final film Part 1 will premiere on February 16. The original manga is available on both MANGA Plus and Viz Media. The one-shot manga that will commemorate the film’s release will be available on February 5.
