What Happened in Chapter 137? (Recap)

The production staff call an ad-lib, as they’re in shock over Ruby’s breakdown in Oshi no Ko chapter 137, claiming that the real Ai can’t show her weakness. The director noted that Ai’s own lies concealed her weakness and hurt feelings when her supposed friends showed their true selves. Ai was pure, beautiful and loved, allowing her to mask the ugly desires of people.

While brainstorming what to do with the ad-lib, manager Ichigo believes Ruby still has a long way to go, since Ai’s loneliness is probably much deeper than Ruby’s. Kana Arima is capable of bringing that loneliness out of her, since her acting can really hurt Ruby emotionally. As a result, the staff believes Kana is a genius actor.

Kana and Ruby discuss their roles in the film, with Ruby saying she understands the depths the human psychology after experiencing such distress. Ruby is still somewhat naive, but she still gains insight into how her mother felt. With this in mind, Ruby decides to pursue her own path as a star. She will be open with her feelings and get along with her friends, promising to support and never give up on Kana, who is also relieved to be with her best friend.
