Capcom has revealed the first look at Ed in Street Fighter 6 through the Ed Teaser Trailer. This trailer confirms that the character will be joining the roster as DLC sometime this February. Originally released on June 2, Street Fighter 6 has seen two DLC characters released thus far: Rashid and A.K.I. Further, a SPY x FAMILY collaboration is now available to celebrate the recent release of SPY x FAMILY CODE: WHITE.
Take a look at the new trailer below.
Just this week, it was announced that over three million copies of Street Fighter 6 have been sold to date. With continued DLC support, it’s likely that the fighting game will continue to break Capcom’s sales records throughout the next few years. If the post-launch support is anything near Street Fighter V, we’ll be getting loads of exciting new content for years to come. After Ed, the next DLC character set to join the roster is none other than Akuma, who will round out the Year 1 pass. He’s set to release sometime in Spring 2024.
More collaborations like the SPY x FAMILY collab should also follow suit. In Summer, we saw the TMNT collaboration release, with skins for all four of the turtles. While the outfits themselves are extremely high priced, it’s nice to see the game receive such exciting and thoughtful collaborations.
We reviewed the title back in June and gave it a 5/5, stating, “Street Fighter 6 may be the best traditional fighting game to release within the past 10 years or so.” After Akuma’s release, we’ll likely receive information on the roadmap for Year 2. Anywhere from four to five characters feels about right, and potentially some new stages as well. Whatever the case may be, stay tuned for the latest on SF6 right here at Final Weapon!
Street Fighter 6 is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
