Viz Media and Manga Plus have released the first chapter of the Kaiju No. 8: B-Side spinoff on their official websites. The next chapter will drop on January 11.
The Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto entered serialization in Manga Plus in 2020, and it’s still ongoing with a cult following backing its success. An anime adaptation is set to premiere in 2024. The last set of footage dropped during Jump Festa 2024. The upcoming anime will premiere in April 2024.
Kaiju No. 8: B-Side Spinoff Available via Viz Media and Manga Plus
On January 4, Viz Media and Shueisha’s Manga Plus service dropped the first chapter of the Kaiju No. 8: B-Side spinoff. The name of the chapter is “Twin Blades of Reminiscence.” Manga Plus states the manga features the “front-line stories of the Defense Force not covered in the main series.” The manga’s second chapter will drop tomorrow, January 11.

The original manga series is available in its entirety on Viz Media and MANGA Plus. They describe it as follows: “A man working a job far removed from his childhood dreams gets wrapped up in an unexpected situation…! Becoming a monster, he aims once again to fulfill his lifelong dream…!” Eleven volumes of the series have been compiled to date.
Lastly, the next issue of Kaiju No. 8: B-Side will launch tomorrow, January 11. The anime adaptation of the main series will air starting in April 2024.
