Dragon in Dragon's Dogma 2 Gameplay Trailer

In a new video from IGN’s FIRST coverage on Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom details the new trickster vocation. The trickster is one of many roles that players can pick in the upcoming RPG. Other examples include fighter, thief, warrior, mage, and more. The trickster is unique from other roles in that, according to IGN, they are a “pacifist.” Their purpose is to draw the enemy’s attention away from their allies and towards them. To add to the misdirection, tricksters can also create a clone of themself to fool enemies.

IGN outlines one possible use of the Trickster’s abilities: “Before getting into a combat encounter, you can create a clone with Effigial Incense, use Visitant Aura to scout out an area for enemies and look for any sort of environmental hazards (like a cliff for instance), recall your clone so that it hovers over said environmental hazard, place a false floor underneath it with Tricky Terrace, then lure enemies close to the clone and use Suffocating Shroud to send all of their aggro to the clone and watch with glee as enemies throw themselves off the edge in an effort to get at you.”

Lastly, Dragon’s Dogma 2 will release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on March 22.
