This past December, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island went gold, which means the game’s development is complete. Several new details about the upcoming roguelike RPG have been revealed regularly since then, including information about online features and monsters.

Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island Online Features – Rescue and Parallel Play

Two online features in Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island offer some safety and convenience while playing the game. Firstly, the Rescue feature lets players save other players who have collapsed in a dungeon and vice versa. If the Rescue is successful, the downed player may continue playing without losing any money or belongings. In a single dungeon challenge, players can issue up to three Rescue requests. The room where a rescued player was found will turn into a monster house.

These aids can raise the rescuer’s level and grant various stat bonuses. Additional Aid Points are available will be awarded upon a successful Rescue, while a portion of Aid Points will be retained upon failure of a Rescue. An internet connection is unavailable, players may use Rescue Self.

The second feature that’s available in Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island is Parallel Play. This feature allows players to upload saved data (parallel data) created at any point during a dungeon adventure to the server. Parallel Play enables others to continue the challenge with the same conditions by using the shared parallel data. Since parallel data can be created and shared n the middle of Parallel Play, multiple players may enjoy this challenge at once. However, it’s worth noting that players cannot bring back items and money obtained in Parallel Play.

While playing the new game, players may talk to Kantenbo, the leader of the Recluse Monks. He claims Serpentcoul Island will be destroyed if Jakaku, a deep-dwelling monster, is defeated. As a result, he’s hostile toward those seeking treasure.

    New Monsters

    Death Reaper

    Death Reaper

A creepy-looking monster with a huge scythe. It moves at double speed and is challenging to shake off since it floats through the air and over water. Because it is a Ghost-type monster, players can damage it by throwing Herbs and other items that restore HP at it.
    Ghost Radish

    Ghost Radish

A monster that throws Grass causing status ailments. Level 1 Ghost Radishes throw Poison Grass, which lowers Shiren’s strength and slows him down, while higher-level versions throw Grass such as Confusion Grass and Sedating Grass.
    Hat Urchin

    Hat Urchin

A mischievous monster that takes Shiren’s belongings and throws them around. The Hat Urchin targets only Shiren’s Stave, but the level 2 Hat Prankster targets both Staves and Grass. As the level increases, the types of items targeted become more varied.
