A new trailer for the second half of the new Urusei Yatsura anime series confirms that it will run for two cours starting January 11. The HIDIVE streaming service will stream the second half of the anime in English as it airs in Japan.
The legendary Urusei Yatsura anime first aired in 1981 as adaptation of the manga by Rumiko Takahashi. Four decades later, the anime returned in October 2022 as a four-part series with a total of 46 episodes. A new trailer provides more details before the second half premieres on January 11.
Urusei Yatsura Second Half Gets Two Cours of Episodes
The fifth promotional video for the second half of Urusei Yatsura confirms the second half will run for two cours with 23 episodes. The trailer also highlights the opening and ending theme songs. MAISONdes performs the opening theme song “Lock On feat. HashiMelo, Megurimeguru” and ending theme song “Raizakura feat. 9Lana, SAKURAmoti.”
Urusei Yatsura’s second half begins on January 11, and HIDIVE will stream new episodes on Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. PDT / 12:30 p.m. EDT. David Production (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) will continue to produce the series with directors Hideya Takahasi, Yasuhiro Kimura, and Takahiro Kamei. In English, Lum is voiced by Jade Kelly, and Ataru is voiced by Nathan Wilson.
