The SPY x FAMILY CODE: White anime film appears to be a major hit in Japan, as its second weekend saw 800 million yen in ticket sales! Roughly 2.08 million tickets for the film have been sold in Japan thus far.
The SPY x FAMILY Season 2 anime ran from October 7, 2023 to December 23, 2023. Unlike the first season, the second season only had 12 episodes. However, the popular anime series opened in theaters for the first time with SPY x FAMILY CODE: White on December 22 in Japan.
SPY x FAMILY CODE: White Second Weekend Sales
Roughly 585,000 tickets for SPY x FAMILY CODE: White were sold during the film’s second weekend in theaters from December 29 to 31, 2023. The new SPY x FAMILY film earned 800 million yen during the second weekend, bringing the cumulative total to 3.4 billion yen (roughly $23.62 million) from December 22, 2023 to January 3, 2024. A total of 2.59 million tickets were sold.
To celebrate the impressive sales of the film, TOHO Animation released the “Big Hit Thank You” YouTube video featuring Loid, Anya, and Yor Forger. Watch the new trailer below:
WIT STUDIO and CloverWorks produced the new film with Takashi Katagiri serving as director. Ichiro Okouchi is the scriptwriter, and Kazuaki Shimada is the character designer. Kana Ishida serves as the sub-character designer. Kyoji Asano is the chief animation director, and Kazuhiro Furuhashi is the animation supervisor. [K]NoW_NAME is the music producer with Shōji Hata as the sound director.
The opening theme song is “Soulsoup” by Official Hige Dandism. Gen Hoshino performs the ending theme song Hikari no Ato (Trails of Light). Crunchyroll will distribute SPY x FAMILY CODE: White in theaters next year, and more detail about the theatrical release are coming soon.
The new SPY x ANYA: Operation Memories game is available now for Nintendo Switch in Japan. In this new title, players may explore the daily life of Anya and take memorable photos. In addition, beloved characters from the SPY x FAMILY anime series will appear as Anya compiles her photo diary. Lastly, the new game will release in 2024 across Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC worldwide.
