After a near seven-year hiatus, the Blue Exorcist anime finally returns with episode 1 of Blue Exorcist Shimane Illuminati Saga! The anime will adapt volumes 10 through 15 of Kazue Katō’s original manga series.
The Blue Exorcist anime returned in 2017 after a six-year hiatus with Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga, which ran for 12 episodes. Blue Exorcist Shimane Illuminati Saga was revealed in September 2023, roughly six years after the 12th and final episode of Kyoto Saga aired. The new anime is expected to bring 12 episodes at the very least.
