Ahead of its launch in 2024, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rated Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for Nintendo Switch. An exact release date has not been announced, but the rating could be a sign that more news is coming in early 2024.
During the September 14 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door would finally come to Nintendo Switch. The unique turn-based RPG will feature new quality-of-life improvements and graphical updates while maintaining what fans loved so much from the original GameCube game.

Like the original game, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for Nintendo Switch retains its E for Everyone rating from the ESRB. The rating description notes that characters engage in “brief flirtatious dialogue,” with some being designed with “large chests/exaggerated proportions.”

This is an adventure role-playing game in which players help Mario rescue Princess Peach from an alien group. As players traverse whimsical worlds, they interact with characters and engage in turn-/puzzle-based combat against paper creatures. Players use various attacks (e.g., boot stomp, hammer strike, fire balls) against cartoony enemies that disappear into stars and coins. A handful of characters engage in brief flirtatious dialogue (e.g., “Aren’t you a fine specimen of a man”; “Perhaps if I…grabbed you and gave you a little sugar”), and/or are designed with large chests/exaggerated proportions.
