Sony Interactive Entertainment and Shift Up’s new action game Stellar Blade will now launch in 2024 for PlayStation 5, according to a new PlayStation Blog post. The game was originally slated for a 2023 release, before Sony announced its second-party agreement with the developer.
Stellar Blade news was scarce after the release of a stunning gameplay trailer in September 2022. However, 2023 still proved to be a notable year for the game, since Sony Interactive Entertainment announced its publishing duties for Stellar Blade. With Sony as publisher, Stellar Blade will be released worldwide.
Stellar Blade Delayed to 2024
In a new PlayStation Blog post outlining upcoming PS5 games, Sony confirms that Stellar Blade will launch in 2024. Unsurprisingly, the game will miss its original 2023 release window, but the extra development time ensures Shift Up can ship a high-quality game. Moreover, Sony will begin a major marketing push for Stellar Blade, as noted in its second-party agreement.
In Stellar Blade, Paratrooper Eve fights to reclaim the Earth for humanity after NA:tive, a strange race of creatures, ravaged much of the land. The remaining vestiges of the human race fled to a Colony in outer space to recoup and prepare for their most important mission.
