4Gamer published its year-end developer interviews and 2024 aspirations article, and Kazutaka Kodaka (Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE) & Kotaro Uchikoshi (AI: The Somnium Files series) from Too Kyo Games tease a “crazy-insane” game announcement for 2024 in the interview. Kodaka also shares an update on what the new game could mean for the company.
The latest release by Too Kyo Games is Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE, which is published by Spike Chunsoft. Directed by Kazutaka Kodaka, Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE brings the investigative elements of Danganronpa to new heights in a compelling mystery adventure game. All four DLC packs for Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE have been released, and the company appears to be preparing for its next game.
A “Crazy” and “Insane” Game are on the Minds of Kazutaka Kodaka & Kotaro Uchikoshi
While speaking to 4Gamer, Kotaro Uchikoshi notes that he can’t announce his game yet, but he hopes to announce this “crazy-insane game that will go down in video games history” in 2024. Kazutaka Kodaka also chimed in on his aspirations for 2024, revealing that he will be extremely busy. Since he’s the president of Too Kyo Games, Kodaka will have less free time, but he wants to work hard since the company’s next project is at the “critical phase.” The subsequent project is about to reach this critical phase as well. Like Uchikoshi, Kodaka notes that one of Too Kyo Games’ projects will be “insane.”

“This year, we released Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE, and while in the past I would have been able to take some time off after a project launched, now that I’m the president of a young company, I don’t have any free time, for the sake of our finances, and am already at the critical phase of our next project. Additionally, the project after that is also nearing its critical phase, and new projects are starting up. The reason why I work so hard is because I want to release as many works as possible to the world. We’re not cutting corners with any—if anything we’re putting in more than 100 percent of our effort. When that happens, what’s the result? Naturally, it places a heavy burden on all of our staff.
However, the ‘too kyo’ in our company name Too Kyo Games means ‘too crazy.’ We exist to go crazy making new works, and for that reason I will work even harder next year. I’ll make sure of it. Our next project is particularly befitting of the name ‘too kyo’ (too crazy), being a game that can only come off as insane, and I hope to be able to announce it next year. It’s a game that we’re all extremely passionate about, and are all vomiting blood while making, so please support us when the time comes.”
In January 2023, Uchikoshi revealed that he was excited for a third entry in the AI: The Somnium Files series. Further details about this third entry were not revealed, however.
