    Fallout 4 ‘Next-Gen’ Update Delayed to 2024

    Bethesda announced the “next-gen” update for open-world first-person RPG Fallout 4 has been delayed to 2024. The update was originally scheduled to launch in 2023 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

    More than a year ago, Bethesda confirmed that Fallout 4 is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players who already own the game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One may upgrade to the new versions for free, but further details remained scarce for nearly 14 months. Finally, Bethesda confirms that this update has been delayed as many suggested.

    Bethesda’s official Fallout Twitter account confirms the delay with a brief statement, ensuring fans that the Fallout 4 next-gen update is still in the works. The development team needs more time to optimize and develop the new update, pushing the release into 2024. 

    “Thank you for your patience with us as we work on the Fallout 4 next-gen update, Bethesda said on Twitter. “We know you’re excited, and so are we! But we need a bit more time and look forward to an exciting return to the Commonwealth in 2024.”

    The new update includes performance mode features for high frame rates, quality features for 4K resolution gameplay, bug fixes, and bonus Creation Club content. Further, the PC version will receive the free next-gen update, bringing parity for the current platforms. A release date for the update will be announced in the near future, so stay tuned.
