In a new update to fans on social media, Koei Tecmo and Kou Shibusawa announced tactical role-playing simulation game Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake has been delayed out of early 2024. The upcoming remake will now release sometime after the first quarter of 2024 as development continues.
Kou Shibusawa’s latest release was Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. This title brings players to the Warring States period of Japan as various leaders vie for the country’s unification. In 2024, fans will go back even further in time to experience Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but the game will not release in early months of the year.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake Delayed
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake producers Kazuhiro Echigoya and Hisatsugu Ishikawa confirm that the game has been delayed out of early 2024 in a message shared on the game’s official Twitter account. The developers note that more quality improvements are necessary to create a game that fans can enjoy. Moreover, Echigoya and Ishikawa state that this is the first-ever remake for the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series, so more development time was deemed ideal.

As previously discussed, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake is based on the Japanese release of Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII with Power Up Kit. The game includes the “All Officers Play” and “All Periods Scenarios” features. Further, players may experience all-new graphical and game system upgrades that help bring the title into the modern era of gaming. For example, the number of officers has been increased from 600 to 1,000. Newly added officers give way to new events and relationships that players can experience.
Lastly, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake launches sometime in 2024 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
