Aniplex released a new trailer for the upcoming Blue Exorcist Shimane Illuminati Saga anime, revealing the ending theme song and January 6 premiere date. The anime will adapt volumes 10-15 of the Blue Exorcist manga series in the new year.
Nearly six years after the anime premiered in 2011, Blue Exorcist returned in 2017 with Blue Exorcist Kyoto Saga, which ran for 12 episodes. After another hiatus, Aniplex confirmed that a new Blue Exorcist anime series was in the works in 2022, and the full reveal of Blue Exorcist Shimane Illuminati Saga came this past September.
Blue Exorcist Shimane Illuminati Saga Release Time
The Blue Exorcist Shimane Illuminati Saga anime will premiere on January 6 at 24:30 JST, which is effectively January 7 at 12:30 JST or January 6 at 10:30 a.m. EDT. Mulasaki-Ima performs the ending theme song “Gakkyū Nisshi,” or “Class Diary.” Moreover, UVERworld performs the opening theme song “Eye’s Sentry.”

Daisuke Yoshida directs the anime series at Studio VOLN with Toshiya Ono overseeing the series scripts. Yurie Oohigashi is the character designer and chief animation director, while Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano compose the anime’s score.
