The Game Bakers have released Furi Demake – The Chain, exclusively on Steam. The game is completely free and recreates the game’s first boss in an 8-bit style.
Furi is an action shoot-em-up beloved by fans and critics alike. The Game Bakers, an indie studio, published the game back in 2016. Furi is known for its fast paced frenetic soundtrack and incredible synthwave soundtrack. The demake is a surprise tribute for long-time fans of the original release.
Furi Demake – The Chain Details
On November 30, The Game Bakers suddenly shadow dropped Furi Demake – The Chain. The game is a complete 8-bit reimagining of the first boss of Furi, known as the Chain. The demake only features the one boss fight, with the entire experience lasting about 30 minutes. Additionally, the demake is completely free and available exclusively on Steam.
The official Steam page describes the game in detail, stating:
Defeat The Chain to escape your jail. Fight Furi’s first guardian in an ultra-fast-paced and nervous battle, in a reinvented side-scrolling mix of shoot’em up and hack’n slash. Be agile and quick, jump, shoot, dash, parry and slash. The simple controls will test your nerves: stay calm and focus to evade the blows and counter-attack at the right time!
- A love letter to 8-bit games: we love retro games and wanted this demake to feel authentic! It’s the Furi experience, agile and intense, reimagined in retro style. The simple controls with only three action buttons, the old-school pixel art and the catchy music from ODD will bring you back to the 90’s!
- A gift to Furi’s community: We reimagined Furi’s first boss fight as a way to thank players for their ongoing support. If this is your first time hearing about Furi, head to Furi’s page and check it out!
- A collaboration with Sylph: We were impressed with Sylph’s work as a solo dev and asked him to create this demake of Furi’s first boss fight. Check out his other games!
Furi Demake – The Chain is available now on Steam for free.
