A new way to vote for The Game Awards in a video game has been revealed! This game is none other than Fortnite, one of the biggest free-to-play titles out there.
Players can enter the new island called “The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite.” Here, you can vote in-game and select the best Fortnite Island of the year. There are ten nominees up for voting, all of which have been selected by The Game Awards.
The Game Awards Announces Voting Through Fortnite
These islands are creator-made, like most creative maps available in Fortnite. The Game Awards Island was created in partnership with Nighttimes and Studio 568. The island is described as follows:
“The Game Awards Vote in Fortnite is a hub world that lets players portal to ten creator made Islands that showcase the potential, creativity and innovation possible in Fortnite. After exploring the nominated islands, players can vote in-game for their favorite. The winning island will be announced live at The Game Awards, when it streams globally on Thursday, December 7 from Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.”
“Ever since I hosted Live From Risky Reels in Fortnite in 2019, I’ve been thinking about ways The Game Awards could bring our celebration inside the games we play every day,” said Geoff Keighley, Creator and Host, The Game Awards. “Our Fortnite island is the first experiment in this direction, and I’m particularly excited to help shine the spotlight on the amazing user-generated community around the world.”
