Bandai Namco have announced the establishment of Bandai Namco Studio 2/Studio S, which are in-house teams that specialize in development of Nintendo games. These teams have worked on several Nintendo Switch titles in recent years, including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
For many years, Bandai Namco has collaborate with Nintendo as a support studio for the company’s games. One of Bandai Namco’s first and most notable collaborative titles with Nintendo was Super Smash Bros for Nintendo Wii U and 3DS. A formal name for the studio involved with these Nintendo-published titles has not been given until now, however.
Bandai Namco Opens Studio 2/Studio S
The official Japanese website for Bandai Namco Studio 2/Studio S is now live, revealing a few more details about the newly opened studio. As briefly mentioned, the studio specializes in development of games with Nintendo. The official website lists the previous projects that Nintendo and Bandai Namco have jointly developed. These titles include Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Kart Tour, and ARMS.
Currently, the studio is looking to hire new talent in order to work on upcoming projects with Nintendo. Source Gaming notes that the studio wants talent experienced in action games in the “side-view” variety. Unsurprisingly, specific details about the game in development were not revealed on the official website. However, it could be related to the hiring for development of a 3D action game earlier this year.
Lastly, here’s an overview message from the studio’s official website via Google Translate:
