The staff of the upcoming anime The Elusive Samurai has revealed a new teaser and key visual for the series. The first episode will premiere in 2024.
Assassination Classroom author Yasei Matsui launched The Elusive Samurai manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in January 2021. The series is still ongoing more than two years later. The upcoming anime will be developed by CloverWorks (SPY x FAMILY).
The Elusive Samurai New Teaser and Visual
The upcoming anime’s new trailer showcases one of the series’ characters, Shizuku. Actress Hinaki Yano takes the role of the character. Check out the trailer below:

- Yūichi Nakamura as Suwa Yorishige
- Hinaki Yano as Shizuku (New)
- Mari Hino as Kojirō (New)
- Sayumi Suzushiro as Ayako (New)
- Aoi Yūki as Kazama Genba (New)
- Kikunosuke Toya as Fubuki (New)
Yuta Yamazaki is directing the new anime series at CloverWorks. Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us and Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You! chief animation director Yasushi Nishiya serves as character designer for the anime.
The entire series is available on Viz Media. They describe it as follows:
After the massacre of his family by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, Tokiyuki flees with the help of a handful of loyal retainers who have also survived the purge. One of them is Suwa Yorishige, an ally of the Hojo clan and lord of Suwa Province. The slightly odd Yorishige also claims to be clairvoyant and foretells that Tokiyuki will one day become the ruler of Japan. But for the moment, escaping from enemy territory is the priority!
The next issue of the manga will be available in four days. Lastly, The Elusive Samurai anime will premiere at some point in 2024. The anime’s staff will reveal more details in the coming months.
