Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead Anime Delay & Hiatus Explained

One of 2023's hottest anime has a consistent issue.

Despite the scheduling and production delay troubles, the Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead anime quickly became a hit. After the Zom 100 anime made its debut on July 9, all seemed well with the first few episodes. However, production delays at Bug Films would push the release of episode 4, and these delays would become a constant fixture of this season.

Haro Aso and Kotaro Takata’s Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead manga is an exciting and comedic take on the zombie apocalypse subgenre. Akira Tendo is plunged straight into a zombie outbreak in Tokyo, but he thinks this dystopia could be the chance he needs to experience life to the fullest. Each episode of Zom 100 brings a intriguing twist, which makes the current situation regarding its delay and hiatus even more disappointing.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead – Anime Delay & Hiatus Explained

Bug Films is relatively new studio in the anime industry, and Zom 100 is the studio’s first anime project. Unfortunately, this comes with a multitude of challenges for production since the team is becoming accustomed to the weekly schedule. Production delays would become normal for Zom 100 around the release of episode 4, pushing the release from Sundays to Mondays. Despite the delays, the anime would proceed with a weekly schedule of sorts leading up to the release of Zom 100 episode 9.

Bad news appears to be the norm as the staff announced that Zom 100 episodes 10 through 12 would be delayed, and the anime would go on hiatus. Specific reasoning regarding the delay was not revealed. However, it’s safe to assume that Bug Films wants to ensure the animation and production quality for the final three episodes of Zom 100. As a result, fans will need to wait for a new update regarding release dates and scheduling for the new episodes. At the very least, fans can expect the anime to return before the end of the year.

New episodes of Zom 100 should release each Sunday at 5:00 p.m. JST on TV networks in Japan if the anime returns with a normal weekly schedule. Fans may watch the anime on Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu as it premieres in Japan. Lastly, a full list of streaming platforms and territories for Zom 100 may be found here
