A new dev diary for the upcoming SAND LAND game has been revealed. The preview details the game’s many enemies and vehicles. A release date is still unknown.
Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and ANIMA co-produced the new SAND LAND movie with Bandai Namco Entertainment. The movie was initially announced as part of SAND LAND project. Bandai Namco has expanded the project to include toys and the aforementioned action RPG. More information will likely be revealed in the coming months with various dev diaries.
First SAND LAND Dev Diary
The first developer diary for SAND LAND details the many enemies Beelzebub, the protagonist, and his many allies must face. The game’s producer, Keishu Minami, shows off the different attacks that Beelzebub can utilize. A skill tree will also be available, allowing for players to further customize their attacks against opponents.
“But,” Minami states, “when it comes to large enemies or tank battles, we recommend using vehicles to fight as equals.” These vehicles include high-damaging weapons of mass destruction, such as tanks, or a Jump-Bot, which allows the player to maneuver through the world with greater ease. There is a full range of both individual character and vehicle actions. Check out the developer diary below for more details:
The official Steam page describes the game as follows:
Dive into a desert world where both humans and demons suffer from an extreme water shortage. Play as and watch the Fiend Prince, Beelzebub, Sheriff Rao and demon Thief set off on an adventure in search of a Legendary Spring hidden in the desert.
In this action RPG, you become the main character as Beelzebub. Lead your company of heroic misfits and explore the legendary world of SAND LAND developed by the creator of Dragon Ball & Dr. Slump, Akira Toriyama.
Use your tact and imagination to develop tanks and other vehicles for your adventures utilizing a wide array of part combinations. Build up your base of operations into a thriving city with the help of the people you meet along the way in the vast desert.
Lastly, SAND LAND is coming soon to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A release date has not been announced.
