NHK announced Season 2 of the Blue Orchestra anime, also known as Ao no Orchestra, is coming soon. The announcement came shortly after the release of the 24th and final episode for the anime’s first season.
Makoto Akui launched the Blue Orchestra manga series in the MANGA One app by Shogakukan in 2017. The manga quickly rose in popularity and even won the Best Shonen Manga award at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2023. The anime series premiered on April 9, 2023, and fans can look forward to the second season soon.
Blue Orchestra Anime Continues in Season 2
Following the release of Blue Orchestra episode 24 on October 8, NHK confirmed that Season 2 will be coming soon. A release date for season 2 was not given, but it will likely come in 2024. The anime’s official website also announces that an episode 24 rebroadcast will take place on October 12 via the NHK Educational channel in Japan. Moreover, NHK will air a Blue Orchestra marathon featuring all 24 episodes. These episodes will air in daily, six-episode programming blocks on November 22 through November 25.
Seiji Kishi directed the first season at Nippon Animation. Jun Sakata was the production supervisor and chief producer. Additionally, Yuuko Kakihara wrote the series scripts, and Kazuaki Morita was the character designer. Staff for the second season have not been confirmed yet.
