CD Projekt Red has announced they will collaborate with Anonymous Content to make the first-ever live-action Cyberpunk 2077 project. The project is in very early development and will bring a new original story to life, set in the dangerous world of Night City.
CDPR initially released Cyberpunk 2077 in 2020. Critics panned the game for its several bugs and glitches and how it didn’t live up to the developer’s promised experience. Recently, though, CDPR released Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0. The new expansion and update have completely overhauled the game and made it closer to the promised experience. With the staff’s recent attention to the franchise, fans can expect the live-action project to deliver an experience unlike any other.
Cyberpunk 2077 Live-Action Project Details
CDPR will collaborate with the famed media company Anonymous Content to develop the upcoming project. Anonymous Content has produced several award-winning films and movies over the last few years. Examples include True Detective, Mr. Robot, The Revenant, Spotlight, and more.
On CD Projekt Red’s official website, they state more details on how development is progressing on the Cyberpunk 2077 live-action project:
The new project is at an early development stage and has currently commenced searching for a screenwriter to tell a brand-new story set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Garrett Kemble, David Levine, Ryan Schwartz, and Bard Dorros will produce on behalf of Anonymous Content alongside Charlie Scully. The project will be developed in close collaboration with the Cyberpunk 2077 creative team. The project will be developed closely with the Cyberpunk 2077 creative team.
At the time of writing, CDPR and Anonymous Content have not yet confirmed if the project will be a TV show or movie. Both companies will likely reveal more specific information in the coming months. Lastly, Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
