Samurai Shodown Rollback Netcode Update Delayed Again

Community beta test to be held.

SNK announced its rollback netcode update for Samurai Shodown has been delayed again from its previous release window of September 2023 to an unannounced date. While fans wait for the update, SNK will host another community beta test on Steam.

During EVO 2023, SNK announced the Samurai Shodown rollback netcode update would launch in September 2023. This  was a delay from its original spring 2023 release, and fans became worried when September was nearing its end without an update in sight. It appears that “various circumstances” have once again affected the update’s release.

A new release date for the Samurai Shodown rollback netcode update was not given. Although the update is delayed again, SNK will host a second Samurai Shodown community beta test with rollback netcode on Steam this October. More details about the test will be available soon.

Here’s the full message from SNK’s official Twitter account:

We are deeply sorry for this additional delay, as we know that many of you have been looking forward to these new features.

In line with the release date change—and our continued dedication to quality assurance—we plan to hold another Community Beta Test on Steam in October this year. More information about the test will be provided once available.

The new release window for rollback netcode will be announced in due course, pending the results of the above test.
