In a new PlayStation Blog post, Advanced Senior UX Designer at Insomniac Michelle Zoria detailed many of the options that Spider-Man 2 will have to make it more accessible for all audiences. For one, while there are four difficulty options at launch, players can individually adjust enemy health, enemy damage, and stealth awareness. There’s also the chase assist feature that makes it easier for players to catch their opponent in the game’s many high-speed chases. Additionally, much like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, there is the option to autocomplete the game’s many quick-time events.

Here are some of the other accessibility options present in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2:

    • Shortcuts
      • The ability to assign specific button prompts to the right and left d-pad buttons.
    • Game Speed
      • Slow down the game to 70%, 50%, and 30% to react to multiple gameplay scenarios.
    • Audio Frequency Controls

After Spider-Man 2 releases, the following features will be available in a post-launch update:

    • Audio Description
    • Screen Reader
    • In-depth captions

Insomniac will likely reveal more information about the game’s post-launch accessibility options in the coming weeks. With the amount of effort the developers have put into the game, Spider-Man 2 is set to be one of the best superhero games of all time. Its accessibility options give the game more room to reach all audiences. Lastly, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will release on October 20. It will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
