Right Stuf Shutting Down and Migrating Products to Crunchyroll

End of an era for Right Stuf.

Crunchyroll announced that Right Stuf is shutting down and migrating its products to the Crunchyroll Store on October 10, 2023. Right Stuf’s closure comes just over a year after Crunchyroll acquired the company.

In August 2022, Crunchyroll acquired Right Stuf to bolster its e-commerce offerings with an even wider array of merchandise and goods. These products include manga, home video, figures, games, music and more to purchase. Just one year later, the store is being phased out in favor of having all products in location—Crunchyroll Store.

Crunchyroll Closes Right Stuf in October

Right Stuf will close on October 10, but it’s vast catalog of products will be available in the Crunchyroll Store. According to Crunchyroll’s latest blog post, this catalog includes over 30,000 items. Moreover, Crunchyroll notes that a holiday 2023 sale will be held similarly to the one that Right Stuf holds annually. There will be some changes to the sale, but the company did not reveal those specific changes yet.

In addition, Crunchyroll also revealed that there will be no disruption to international shipping and availability for items listed in the Crunchyroll Store. The company can ship internationally, too. However, Crunchyroll’s FAQ lists certain limitations that customers must be aware of.

In a separate update from Anime News Network, Crunchyroll revealed that there will be no effect on products involving Nozomi Entertainment’s licenses. These licensed products include Macross and the Right Stuf and Nozomi Entertainment’s Kickstarted Blu-ray Disc release of Dirty Pair. The release of Dirty Pair will continue as initially planned.

“The expansion of the Crunchyroll Store underscores our commitment to providing fans with the ultimate destination for anime-inspired merchandise and collectibles,” said Terry Li, EVP of Emerging Business at Crunchyroll. “Commerce is an important element of the anime lifestyle that allows fans to proudly display their passion, and we look forward to growing the global love of anime by continuing to expand our eCommerce capabilities.”
