ININ Games has announced that the Dreamcast 3D Shoot-Em-Up Rainbow Cotton will be getting a remaster. The game will release in Spring 2024 for all modern consoles.
SUCCESS Corporation initially released Rainbow Cotton for the Dreamcast in the year 2000. The game never ended up releasing in the West. The upcoming remaster will mark the first time it has been re-released for worldwide audiences. ININ Games revealed more specific information about what the remaster has in store.
Rainbow Cotton Remaster Coming Soon
Rainbow Cotton is the fifth entry in the Cotton series. The game invites players to a 3D rail shooter as you take the role of Cotton and her trusty friend Silk. The remastered version of the game will be available on the PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4. ININ Games released a press statement confirming more information about the remaster:
Rainbow Cotton features exciting gameplay reminiscent of its predecessor, the classic game Panorama Cotton. The game takes you on an arcade-inspired journey through a fantastic world full of surprises and challenges. Every stage in Rainbow Cotton is guarded by a massive boss that will put your skills to the ultimate test.
Collect power-ups, build up your flashy projectiles, and hurl them at colorful enemies. Use powerful magic attacks to clear the screen with fireballs and lightning. Only the most courageous (and stubborn!) witches will prevail!
The charming 3D graphics will leave you mesmerized as you travel through, for example, a cozy moonlit town draped in Christmas lights, a mysterious sunken forest, and a magical castle above the clouds.
