THQ Nordic has announced that SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake will be coming to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 16. A new patch and free next-gen update will release alongside it.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a 3D platformer with similar mechanics to the fan-favorite game SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. THQ released the game earlier this year, in January 2023. The game is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Alongside confirming the next-gen port, THQ revealed more information on what to expect from the game’s latest update.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake on Next-Gen Consoles
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake will release on the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in October. Those who already own the game on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to upgrade the game to next-gen for free. The game will cost $39.99. Alongside the port, a new update will be released that features:
- Photo Mode
- New Costumes
- New costume “King Doubloon” for collecting all doubloons is now available.
- New costume “Plush Gary” for unlocking all awards is now available.
- Improvements (PS5 only)
- Support of DualSense controller audio output when picking up items.
- Support of DualSense adaptive triggers when using reef blower and swinging hook actions.
