A new Nintendo Direct is around the corner, and we’ve got all the latest updates and details for you for the September 2023 edition. Tons of titles have been rumored and even leaked if you know where to look. There are so many games that could be presented, but what does Nintendo have in store?
It’s pretty standard to expect a presentation from Nintendo for this time of year, as the company has opted to host one for the last decade during September. Here’s everything we know so far about this upcoming Direct.
When is the September 2023 Nintendo Direct?
At this time, a September 2023 Nintendo Direct has not been confirmed. However, it is extremely likely that we will see one air within the week of September 10 through September 16. This follows the trends of recent Directs in past years and rumors.
There is a notable leaker, Pyoro, who leaked Super Mario Bros. Wonder and a slew of other announcements. This week, he has teased an upcoming Direct to be in the works for next week, September 10-16.
Nintendo Direct Rumors
Most notably, Pyoro has hinted at something related to Donkey Kong with a recent tweet. While this doesn’t confirm a new DK game will be revealed, it seems quite possible. The Switch has not received a new Donkey Kong game in its lifetime. It did receive Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, a port of the former exclusive Wii U title. That game received a new playable character, Funky Kong, but not any new substantial content.
A few years back, a rumor surfaced that the Super Mario Odyssey team was working on a new title for the Donkey Kong series. Could this be the title being teased? We’ll have to wait and see.
Additionally, Pyoro also teased news for F-ZERO. This comes after rumors swirled earlier this year about a potential F-ZERO GX remaster for the Nintendo Switch. It’s likely that this is indeed the announcement the leaker is referring to, as the other F-ZERO titles are already available through Nintendo Switch Online.
When Will the Nintendo Direct Be Announced?
The Nintendo Direct for September 2023 will most likely be announced on Tuesday, September 12. This leaves room for around 48 hours, with the expected air date on Thursday, September 14.
Nintendo is no stranger to airing presentations on Wednesday, though, so it is possible we could see the presentation air on September 13.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information from leakers or confirmation by Nintendo is revealed. Stay tuned!
